         Eleventh Workshop

On February 28, the eleventh workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held in SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Jovana Siskovska, Full Stack WordPress Developer, Web Designer and HTML/CSS Trainer at the SEDC Code Academy. Workhop’s lecture was focused on WordPress as a Content Management System and it’s features. At the beginning, participants were introduced with the history of WordPress and then they had the chance to learn how to set up their own WordPress Development environment. After the successful installation of the system, participants learned how to set up a theme, how to manage the content in that theme and how themes are structured. On the workshop, students successfully installed two WordPress themes, the first one was a simple One Pager theme and the second one was a bit more complex multipurpose theme. The session was closed with a few words about SEO and website optimization and its best practices.

                

          Tenth Workshop

On February 21st and 22nd the tenth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at Get Innovation Bitola with Ivona Veljanoska, MA, digital marketer, and graphic designer. The first part of this workshop covered topics on Branding and Brand Management. The goal of the workshop was to explore the basic theories and practices of branding, brand elements and strategies. During the second part of the workshop, participants had a chance to learn the basic options, tools, and effects in Illustrator. Later on, participants were able to practice and implement their knowledge in the creation of graphic designs.

                   

          Ninth Workshop

On February 14, the ninth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held in SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Stefan Chachovski, co-founder of Invoicebus.com. The title of the workshop was “Prices and promotion – practical tips and tricks” which initially covered the basic aspects of defining the price of a product, pricing models and practical tips in defining prices. During this workshop, the ways for online product promotion before and after its launching were described. In the second part of the workshop there was a practical segment when students filled in the template with business questions for their startup ideas and drew a mockup with a prototype of their product (landing page и user interface).

              

          Eighth Workshop

On February 11, the eighth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held in SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Stefan Chachovski, co-founder of Invoicebus.com, on the topic “How to design a product that people love.” The process of designing the product (by writing a simple story about it, defining its characters focusing on important things) and running an online product/ service with a relatively small team (2-3 people) was elaborated during this workshop. Stefan presented the participants with ideas for quick and simple product development (from a sketch through a choice of functionalities and interface design) with an emphasis on simplicity and user experience (UX).

               

          Seventh Workshop

On February 8th the seventh workshop of the project Tech Startup School was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov”- Bitola with Stefan Chachovski, co-founder of Invoicebus.com. The workshop was divided in two parts. The first part was dedicated on the way of developing a startup business idea, validation and terms of its realization. It was discussed about the lean startup methodology, creation of MVP (minimum viable product), ways of financing and the team needed for the idea to be turned into real business. In the second part of the workshop an interactive brainstorming session was done by dividing the participants into teams which created and discussed their business ideas with the entire group. “Tech startup school” is a project supported through the Democracy Grants Program of the U.S. Embassy Macedonia.

         

          Sixth Workshop

On February 5th the sixth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Blagoja Stojcevski, co-owner, main electronics designer and project manager at Threemode Team. This workshop included developing simple PCB design using almost all tools in DeepTrace PCB design software, what files need to be exported (GERBER), and how to order prototypes. With this workshop the part of the electronics and electrotechnic basic education for the project participants was complete. The next sessions of the project workshops will be dedicated on the process of founding startups.

                       

          Fifth Workshop

On January 31st the fifth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Blagoja Stojcevski, co-owner, main electronics designer and project manager at Threemode Team. For this workshop, the topic was “Electronics in today’s modern devices”. The main goal for the workshop was to go go deeper in electronics and how modern electronics work, how to source information, how to design it and how to produce electronic components.

                    

          Fourth Workshop

On January 28th the fourth workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Blagoja Stojcevski, co-owner, main electronics designer and project manager at Threemode Team.Explaining the process of designing and producing electrical devices and products was the main topic for this workshop. Blagoja, together weth the project participants discussed the type of team needed for completing tasks, the process of designing the electronic components, the process of designing mechanical parts, enclosure and 3D printedprototypes, prototyping, organizing and managing whole process (SCRUM and Kanban).

                    

          Third Workshop

On January 21st the third workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Emrah Mehmedov, software developer and cloud computing enthusiast. During this workshop, the participants were introduced to Web Development, starting with the meaning of Web Development, HTTP/s protocol and how to use Developer Tools inside Internet Browsers. Additionally participants learned how they can create a new project which they can use web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery и jQuary UI. Using mentioned technologies we created a web page which we used Modal dialog which includes form where customers can fill data into and using ajax submit them to server asynchronously and then process the data using PHP then respond to the request.

                   

          Second Workshop

On 26th of December 2018 a second workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held in the school SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola  with Emrah Mehmedov,  software developer and cloud computing enthusiast. At the second workshop, students were introduced to Amazon AWS and its services, such as EC2, Lambda, IAM, S3, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon Auto Scaling and others. Additionally, partisipant got acquainted with the basics of Web Development starting  with creating a project, which can be run with Web Browser and how they can combine the technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript to start developing a web application.

                      

          First Workshop

On December 21st, the first workshop of the project “Tech startup school” was held at SOTU “Gorgi Naumov” – Bitola with Emrah Mehmedov, software developer and cloud computing enthusiast. At the first workshop, students were introduced to the basics of Cloud computing (they were able to learn what does cloud computing mean, what is part of the cloud computing, well-known companies witch offer cloud solutions, etc.). In the second part of the workshop, the participants were introduced with Virtual Machines (VM), what is a virtual machine, how does a virtual machine work, how we can create it, and how we can run more than one virtual machine on one physical machine. The participant had the opportunity to try and create a virtual machine on their own computers and to understand how they can use the virtual machines in the cloud.

                   

          Tech Startup School Kick-off

The project “Tech startup school” was launched on December 11th. This project is implemented by GET INNOVATION Bitola in cooperation with the Technical high school in Bitola. At the first meeting the participants were introduced in details with the project program, the workshops schedule and asked questions. Also, with the help of Ana Dajovska, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the process of Design thinking which is most popular approach to creating innovations. This project is supported through the Democracy Grants Program of the U.S. Embassy Macedonia.
